Peru’s biggest broadcaster chooses Piano’s VX platform to monetize international online video streaming across all platforms including desktop, mobile and apps
New York (September 8, 2015) –Piano, a digital content monetization and audience intelligence platform for publishers and media companies, announced today that America Television, Peru’s biggest broadcaster, has chosen Piano’s VX platform to monetize its international online video streaming platform America TVGO. America TVGO enables audiences outside of Peru to view America Television programming including news broadcasts, local entertainment and domestic sports or Video on Demand (VOD) on their desktops and mobile devices. The deal follows Piano’s recent selection by NBC Sports to monetize their digital stream of the Tour de France.
“We wanted a solution that would allow us to quickly monetize our international audience through our existing OTT platform, America TVGO,” said America Television’s Head of Digital, Jose Hernandez. “With Piano’s VX platform we’ve been able to implement a powerful and exceedingly consumer friendly subscription and payment layer while gaining a deeper understanding into what appeals to our overseas viewers through Piano’s analysis tools.”
America Television is the first Peruvian media company to monetize online content. The company is among South American pioneers who have started using online subscriptions, a method that has been widely adopted by both publishers and broadcasters in North America and Europe. America Television’s web sites have a monthly audience of nine million unique browsers, 35 million pageviews and 15 million reproductions of videos. The new service aims at the international market, beginning with the United States. Piano’s Issue entitlements and subscription technology resides in front of any content served to viewers, maximizing content security.

Piano clients include NBC Universal, Time Inc., The McClatchy Company, The EW Scripps Company, The Postmedia Network, News Corp. and IBT Media. Recent launches have included CNBC Pro, the Tour de France, Russia Direct and Real Simple magazine. Additionally, more than 1,200 other news and media providers around the world, both Omni-channel and digital only, depend on Piano’s SaaS platform to manage their paid content and subscription offerings across the web, apps, and physical media.
